Former Mass. education secretary on the impact of closing the U.S. Department of Education
President Trump signed a long-expected executive order last Thursday calling on U.S. Education Secretary Linda McMahon to "take all necessary steps to facilitate the closure of the Department of Education and return authority over education to the States and local communities."
On Monday, a group of Massachusetts school districts and educator unions filed a lawsuit to block the effort.
