Local refugee resettlement agency still in limbo 2 months after Trump suspends program funding
Thousands of refugees — and the organizations readying to settle them — remain in limbo two months after President Trump signed an executive order suspending the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program. This includes the International Institute of New England, one of the region's largest resettlement agencies.
Institute CEO Jeff Thielman spoke with WBUR's Morning Edition about the dozens of refugees his agency is waiting to resettle in the region, and how already resettled families are feeling right now in this time.
