The case against a seven-story building behind Fenway's Green Monster

Fenway Sports Group plans to build a seven story office building directly behind the Green Monster. Part of a larger redevelopment project, the building will be used as the headquarters for the Red Sox and their ownership group.

Writer Jason Schwartz tells WBUR's Morning Edition that the project will ruin the Green Monster's magic.

Fenway Sports Group spokesperson Zineb Curran said the organization understands "the deep emotional connection fans have to the Green Monster."

"Any change to the visual backdrop of Fenway Park is approached with great care, and the building at 55 Lansdowne is no exception," she said.
