Here's how much snow Boston got and when the next storm is expected to arrive

It's official. Boston recorded 23.2 inches after the Sunday-into-Monday storm — placing it in the top 10 for highest storm totals on record, behind the January blizzard of 2022 and Presidents Day blizzard of 2003.
Worcester recorded 22.4 inches, which also puts this storm in the top 10 category, in ninth place behind the April Fools blizzard of 1997.
Peak wind gusts topped out over 50 mph in a few spots briefly Sunday evening along the south coast to Cape Cod. While there were a couple thousand outages during the height of this system, but thankfully power kept flowing for most and there were no significant coastal issues.
Perhaps one of the most interesting parts of this storm is how large of an area in New England received over a foot of snow. That was thanks in part to the consistency of the snow. In southeast Massachusetts, there was varying water content — from fluffy to sticky then fluffy again — but there was more moisture to work with.
With so much Arctic air in place, much of western, central and northern New England ended up with over a foot of powder because it was just that: pure fluff. It was easy to move around and piled up super quickly.
Now the question on everyone's minds is: When is our next chance of snow? The short answer: this weekend (Saturday night through Sunday timeframe). The longer response: it will all hinge on the storm's track.
A powerful storm is likely to pass to our southeast, farther offshore than this past storm, but at this point, every option is still on the table — from a complete miss to a potential blizzard.
Check back this week for updates as we narrow down the possibilities.
