Valentin Danilov, 83, is a resident of Sevastopol, Crimea, and a former executive officer on a Soviet submarine. He still wears his military uniform in public though he's long since retired. He says he got some dirty looks when Crimea was part of Ukraine, but now that Russia is in control, he says, the uniform is welcome. (Max Avdeev for NPR)
