Tiger Woods receives some bad news, both on and off the course.
Tiger Woods receives some bad news, both on and off the course.

If you’ve been living under a rock for the past two weeks, let us at Only A Game update you a bit: First, welcome back!  Second, Tiger Woods has been in the news a bit lately, and not for his mastery of the game of golf.  Bill talks with The New York Times’ Larry Dorman who has been covering the economic implications of Tiger’s saga.

The honorees that make up the recently inducted 2009 Class of the College Football Hall of Fame all boast impressive resumes.  One in particular stands out not just for sporting achievement, but for the honoree’s historical significance.  Bill examines the little-told story of William Henry Lewis. With basketball season in full swing, Bill catches up with FoxSports.com’s Kevin Hench to talk about the latest in NBA news.

Believe it or not, professional football and Sundays didn’t always go hand in hand.  Bill talks with author Robert S. Lyons about his new book, On Any Given Sunday, that chronicles the life of NFL pioneer, team owner and league commissioner Bert Bell.

A great week for Tiger Woods, a plethora of bowl games, and an NBA referee controversy: all is right in the sports world as Bill talks with Only A Game analyst Charlie Pierce.

Bill opens the Only A Game mailbox and checks in with listeners.

Though the Holiday Season remains in full swing, Hanukkah ends tonight and the book has already closed on this year’s Dreidel Season.  Missed the dreidel action?  Don’t worry, we sent Only A Game’s Jon Kalish to cover the Major League Dreidel Championship.

This program aired on December 19, 2009.
