Boston Globe Columnist Dan Shaughnessy Joins Baseball Hall of Fame

A familiar Boston face is headed to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Globe columnist Dan Shaughnessy is this year's honoree for the J.G. Taylor Spink Award, a sports writing award, named for the late editor of The Sporting News. The award is voted on by the Baseball Writers' Association of America.

Shaughnessy will join the "Scribes and Mikemen" exhibit in the National Baseball Hall of Fame — the fifth awardee with Globe pedigree to do so.
