Real Estate Billionaire Bill Cummings Is Giving It All Away

Bill Cummings built his fortune in the real estate world. Starting with just a single building in Woburn, Cummings Properties now spans 11 million square feet across northeastern Massachusetts.

In 2011, Bill and his wife Joyce became the first people in Massachusetts to sign the Giving Pledge, a promise to give away at least half of their total wealth. The Cummings Foundation is one of the largest philanthropic organizations in the state, and it is unique in how the donations are distributed.
