College graduation season is winding down and, in some cases, there is more finality to the ceremonies. For instance, Wheelock College and Mount Ida celebrated their final graduation ceremonies in the past few weeks.

Wheelock's recent merger and the buyout of Mount Ida by UMass may serve as a warning to other small colleges facing declining enrollment and rising costs.
