Author Max Brallier On Zombies, Middle School And Friendship

New York Times best-selling author Max Brallier has written more than 30 books, including the "Last Kids on Earth" series. The fifth book in the series, "The Last Kids on Earth and the Midnight Blade," was released on Tuesday. The series also premiered Tuesday as an animated Netflix show, with voice-over work from Mark Hamill and Rosario Dawson, among others. Brallier, who grew up in Reading, Massachusetts, talked with us about writing for an adolescent audience, our cultural fascination with zombies, and the influence his hometown has had on his work.
