When Pfizer and then Moderna recently announced efficacy rates of their vaccines during trials at 90 percent and higher, the daily conversations about life in the pandemic seemed to shift noticeably. But in addition to a new sense of hope, the news has also raised a whole host of questions around vaccine safety, speed to market, availability of doses, and even whether people will actually get it.

We take listener questions on the vaccines with Dr. Helen Boucher, Chief of the Division of Geographic Medicine and Infectious Diseases at Tufts Medical Center and a professor at the Tufts University School of Medicine, and Dr. Christopher Gill, professor of global health at the Boston University School of Public Health and an expert who's done extensive work on vaccine trials.

This segment aired on November 19, 2020.
