Creating A New Musical Vocabulary: The BSO Collaborates With Hip-Hop Group STL GLD
The Boston hip-hop group STL GLD and the Boston Symphony Orchestra released a collaboration of "With Me," from STL GLD's 2019 album "The New Normal."
That release this fall kick-started a new virtual series, titled "Us: A Celebration of Community." The project consists of seven virtual podcasts with artists from the Boston music community and the BSO, making connections across genres.
It's also the start of a wider collaboration between both groups. We talk about the series and what comes next with Moe Pope, a hip-hop artist and leader of the band STL GLD, and Thomas Wilkins, BSO youth and family concerts conductor.
