Sen. Ed Markey On McConnell Blocking Vote On Stimulus Checks
ResumeSenate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blocked consideration of a House bill that would deliver a $2,000 stimulus payment to most Americans, despite pressure from President Trump and members of his own party.
Sen. McConnell said the Senate would take up the issue along with two other of the President's priorities: removing legal protections for social media companies and investigating what President Trump has called "very substantial voter fraud" in the election, a widely disputed claim that has never been backed up with any credible evidence.
