Help continues to trickle into Haiti, almost a week after a 7.2 magnitude earthquake shook the country.

Part of that help is local, as Massachusetts has the third largest Haitian community in the country.

We hear about these local aid efforts from Jaresiah Desrosiers, a senior project manager with Build Health International, a non-profit based in Beverly, and Jim Ansara, he's the co-founder of Build Health International.

Jaresiah calls us from on the ground in Les Cayes, Haiti, where he's currently stationed. His cell phone connection was shaky, but we wanted to hear directly from someone there in the disaster zone.

This segment aired on August 20, 2021.
