Yesterday, Jasiel Correia, the former mayor of Fall River, Massachusetts, was expected to be sentenced for a slew of convictions involving wire fraud, filing false tax returns, and extortion. But instead, the judge threw out eight of the 21 counts. Today, as we await Correia's sentencing, we talk to Tim White, an investigative reporter from WPRI in Rhode Island, to help us understand the long-lasting legal battle and its impacts on the Fall River community.

This segment aired on September 21, 2021.
