Twenty-six million. That's how many rapid at home tests will be flooding into the state over the next three months. Those tests, according to Gov. Charlie Baker, will be earmarked for K-12 education and childcare.

Baker also deployed 500 National Guard troops to hospitals across the state in a press conference Tuesday morning.

All of this as Massachusetts - and the country - breaks records in hospitalizations and case counts in light of omicron's free-ranging spread.

We take listener calls and questions with Dr. Shira Doron, attending physician, and Hospital Epidemiologist at Tufts Medical Center, and Associate Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine, and Dr. Eric Dickson, president and CEO of UMass Memorial Health, based in Central Massachusetts.
