World's fair or bust: Pony-cart journey of two Needham boys documented in new film

14:42

In the summer of 1967, two little boys, Jeff and Tony Whittemore, wanted nothing more than to go to the World's Fair in Montreal. But Jeff and Tony lived in Needham, Massachusetts. The boys devised a plan to drive their Shetland pony, King, more than 300 miles, alone. Their 27-day journey is documented in a new film, "Pony Boys," showing this weekend at the Independent Film Festival of Boston.

This segment aired on April 28, 2022.
