Beaches are shutting down up and down eastern Cape Cod due to shark sightings. Black bears are expanding their territory eastward toward Boston. Last year, the state estimated there are somewhere between 10,000 and 12,000 coyotes in Massachusetts.

We spoke with shark expert Greg Skomal about how to act if you see a shark in the water, and Renata Pomponi of the Mass Audubon Society joins us to talk through our close encounters of the land animal kind.

This segment aired on July 18, 2022.
