Celebrity chef Tiffani Faison says she'll soon open up a new Italian eatery inside Boston's Fenway neighborhood.

Faison announced Thursday on Radio Boston that she'll prop up a second — this time "giant" — Tenderoni's in the same location where, last year, she closed her Asian-inspired restaurant, Tiger Mama.

The space, she said, should offer people "Italian-ish" food, like giant mozzarella sticks and meatballs. Decor at Tenderoni's Fenway, Faison said, will draw inspiration from the '70s and early '80s.

"I thought let's bring that level of joy and fun and exuberance and unabashed bling," Faison said. "It's going to look like a tricked-out roller rink."

The celebrated restaurateur is best known to locals for her culinary delights at five eateries located between Fenway and the downtown dining hall, High Street Place. And many fans across the country know her from appearances on food competition programs like "Top Chef" and "Chopped."

Tenderoni's Fenway is scheduled to open by the end of November. Faison began selling her first Tenderoni's pizzas earlier this year at the High Street Place food hall.

This segment aired on October 13, 2022.
