Celebrating WBUR Cognoscenti's 10th anniversary
Resume
This is the Radio Boston rundown for Dec. 30. Tiziana Dearing is our host.
- Author and former MMA fighter John Vercher joined us in November to reflect on his Cognoscenti essay, "The Unbearable Whiteness of Being." We talk about his relationship with his father, and his ongoing search for his own identity.
- Wellesley College professor Kellie Carter Jackson also joined us in November to discuss her Cognoscenti essay, "'Just Ethel': What my grandmother, who was much more than a domestic worker, taught me about Black patriotism." She reflects on her grandmother's legacy, as well as what her ancestors would make of her own personal achievements and successes.
- Joanna Weiss has been a longtime Cognoscenti contributor on a wide range of topics. But it's her time playing with her Milton-based mom rock band, The Lazy Susans, that Weiss wanted to highlight for Cognoscenti's 10th anniversary. Weiss and two bandmates joined us in October to talk about their wild ride from Milton Porchfest to the Kelly Clarkson show.
This program aired on December 30, 2022.
