A new book chronicles the fight for gender equity at MIT in the 1990s

Kate Zernicke was a reporter for the Boston Globe in 1999 when she broke the news that top leaders at MIT were recognizing the institution had discriminated against women faculty. Nearly 25 years after the landmark admission, Zernicke returns to the story in her new book "The Exceptions."
