Scandal, resentment and uncertainty descend on Boston's City Council just as election season heats up. In the last year, the council has been embroiled in a redistricting lawsuit, budget fights and an ethics probe of one of its members. More recently, Councilor Michael Flaherty announced he won't be seeking reelection, a decision that underscores the troubles at City Hall.

Former City Councilor Tito Jackson and managing editor for the Dorchester Reporter, Gintautas Dumcius, who's been reporting on the developments, join us to discuss.

This segment aired on July 7, 2023.
