Massachusetts saw a 50.8% increase in depression and anxiety in kids aged 3 to 17 between 2016 and 2020, a troubling trend that put the state far above the national average.

A new report from Harvard psychologist Rick Weissbourd suggests that spike could be intertwined with rising rates of depression and anxiety in parents. Weissbourd joined Radio Boston to discuss the findings.

This segment aired on July 26, 2023.
