Once upon a time, Boston was home to least a dozen jazz venues that welcomed jazz legends like Charlie Parker.

While the city is still home to premier institutions for studying jazz, like the Berklee College of Music, venues are scarce compared to those days.

That's why Michael Feldman, who owns the building where the Long Live Roxbury brewery resides, has launched a series of free live jazz events on Thursday nights, once again making space for some of the foremost jazz musicians in the world to showcase their skills.

Feldman joins Radio Boston along with jazz drummer Mark Walker to talk about the jazz scene in the city.

This segment aired on April 2, 2024.
