The Framingham Heart Study changed how we think about heart health

18:42

The Framingham Heart Study is the longest running cohort study on cardiovascular health in human history. More than 15,000 volunteers with roots in Framingham have allowed researchers to track their heart and brain health over time.

Last fall, the study turned 75, and participants marked that anniversary this past spring. James Carboneau, a second generation participant, and his daughters, Erin Thalmann and Leah Smith, both third generation, joined us to talk about the study. Dr. Joanne M. Murabito, the interim multiple PI and research center director for the Framingham Heart Study, also joined the conversation.

This segment aired on May 29, 2024.
