Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren says Kamala Harris is "pulling our party together," two days after President Joe Biden announced he would not seek re-election and endorsed his vice president.

Republicans, including vice presidential candidate JD Vance, have heavily criticized the way Democrats have sought to replace Biden's candidacy, with some calling the support for Harris a "coronation."

Warren said she has "no concerns" about the ongoing process of choosing a candidate ahead of the party's national convention in Chicago. The Democratic National Committee said party officials will hold an electronic roll call vote for the party's next nominee on Aug. 7.

"She's going to go toe-to-toe with Donald Trump," Warren said on WBUR's Radio Boston. "She's going to win in November — that's what the Republicans are unhappy about."

When asked if the American people are being served the best they can by this process, Warren said that the American people are demonstrating they are on board by getting involved in campaigns, volunteering and donating an "unprecedented outpouring of money."

Warren noted that Harris herself won, alongside President Biden, on the ballot in 2020, "with the understanding that if she was needed, she could step up."

Now, with a convicted felon leading the Republican ticket, Warren said "who better than a prosecutor to take him on."
