How a revolt in Somerville helped spark the American Revolution

Months before Paul Revere took his famous ride, there was an uprising that would provide a dress rehearsal for the battles of Lexington and Concord and eventually a Revolution.

This weekend marks 250 years since the Powder Alarm, where people in what is now Somerville and Cambridge revolted against the British for taking their ammunition.
