Without federal action, thousands in Mass. may see insurance premiums rise

04:25

Thousands of Massachusetts residents could pay hundreds more for their health insurance next year. That's unless Congress extends some expiring pandemic-era subsidies, which kept prices more affordable.

Evan Horowitz, of the Center for State Policy Analysis at Tufts University, said the loss would affect Massachusetts families and put pressure on the state's safety net programs. He joined WBUR's Morning Edition to break down the costs and who is most at risk.

This segment aired on September 24, 2025.
