40 years after the Challenger explosion, a former student at Christa McAuliffe's high school reflects

In 1985, NASA chose Christa McAuliffe, a Framingham native and high school teacher in Concord, New Hampshire, to be the first civilian to go into space. McAuliffe died the following year onboard the space shuttle Challenger, which exploded shortly after launch.

Kevin Swope was a senior at Concord High School that day. He joins WBUR's Morning Edition to reflect on his memories of the disaster.
