03:45

Boston's new professional women’s soccer team plays their first game this weekend.

Boston Legacy FC will kick off at Gillette Stadium on Saturday. The team's intended home turf, White Stadium, is still under construction amid a controversial deal to have the team play in a public park.

Boston Legacy president Jennifer van Dijk spoke with Lynn Jolicoeur on WBUR's All Things Considered about how the club prepared for this moment and how it hopes to draw new sports fans.

This segment aired on March 13, 2026.
