A three-part documentary on Henry David Thoreau is set to premiere Monday night on PBS. The series is produced by Ken Burns and Don Henley, who founded the nonprofit The Walden Woods Project — and was a founding member of The Eagles.

The series looks at the life of Henry David Thoreau, from his upbringing in Massachusetts, his time living at Walden Pond, and his pursuits of science and equality after he left the cabin.

WBUR's All Things Considered host Lisa Mullins talks with co-director Erik Ewers about Thoreau's legacy in Massachusetts and beyond.

This segment aired on March 30, 2026.
