Grandfather and granddaughter prepare to run the Boston Marathon together

Mia Sanchez and her grandfather, Carlos Sanchez, will be among the tens of thousands running the 130th Boston Marathon on Monday.

They believe they're the first known grandparent and grandchild pair to qualify to run the marathon together.

The pair spoke with WBUR's Morning Edition host Tiziana Dearing about what it means to run the race together.
