A 36-year-old from Concord just set the speed climbing record for Mount Everest.

Tyler Andrews reached the summit alone, with the help of supplemental oxygen, in 9 hours and 55 minutes on May 28. He beat the previous record by an hour.

Andrews joins WBUR's Morning Edition to share what it took, including the early motivation from his Concord Academy high school track coach.

This segment aired on June 5, 2026. Audio will be available soon.
