Last-Minute Preparations Underway, Crowds Build For 43rd Boston Pops July Fourth Concert

The stage is set for tonight's 43rd annual July Fourth Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular on the Esplanade.

Hundreds of thousands of people will watch it live throughout Boston and millions will be able to watch it coast to coast on television and online.

The show gets underway at 8:30 p.m. The Pops will be joined by singers Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas and country group Little Big Town.

WBUR's Steve Brown joined All Things Considered from the Hatch Shell to discuss the last minute preparations being made for the annual event.
