Former Mob Boss 'Cadillac Frank' Faces Murder Charge

Former New England mob boss Frank Salemme, long known as "Cadillac Frank," has been charged with the murder of a federal witness back in 1993.

The witness was Providence nightclub manger Steven DiSarro. DiSarro's body wasn't found until March of this year, then identified in June.

Salemme, who is 82 years old, was arrested Wednesday in Connecticut.

WBUR senior reporter David Boeri was in federal court in Boston when Salemme made his first appearance. He joined WBUR's All Things Considered to discuss.
