5 Things To Do This Weekend, From A DJed Sunday Brunch To A Classical Concert

Slowly, but surely we’re finding our groove — or doing the best we can given the circumstances. The weekends are still a time to unwind and we’re here to provide you with another three days of fun activities. We have something for everyone, too! Let's see what we can get into.

New England Conservatory has launched virtual programming great for the whole family. NEC would usually have an in-person version of this popular spring event, but due to the circumstances, decided to make it available to everyone online. They’ve rolled out a video at 11 a.m. every day this week, featuring a mix of music and storytelling entertaining enough for the kiddos. On Friday at 11 a.m., Lucy Little is joining in on the fun for some violin playing and a musical story performed by a father-daughter duo.

The gym chain Planet Fitness is now providing those who want to stay fit with some workout videos. We can’t get to the gym to pump iron, but they’ve made this fun series with different styles of workouts led by different folks including a Miami Heat dancer (happening this Friday!), personal trainers and Hollywood actors. If you miss out on the live classes, don't fret. The videos are uploaded to YouTube and their Facebook page afterward.

The Boston Early Music Festival Orchestra will play through some of the catalogue of French composer Jean-Philippe Rameau. His music ranges from the theatrical to the operatic to more upbeat, dance selections. Tune in at 7 p.m.!

I, as a typical millennial, would be lying if I said I didn’t miss going to brunch with my friends. It was my lifeline and I can’t wait to sit at some overpriced restaurant trying to talk over loud music with my girls again. But until then, the ICA is setting us up with spins from disco queen Saucy Lady Sunday. Make your own pancakes and eggs benedict, crack open the champagne and orange juice, and head over to the ICA’s Instagram at 11:30 a.m.

This virtual weekend conference is focused on building equity for arts and culture. These three days will be filled with panel discussions, workshops and roundtables with some folks from the arts and culture community. Visual and performance artists will also showcase their work during the event, and this year, tickets are donation-based.
