Jake Sullivan has been working to shape policy for the United States for much of the 21st century. He led major foreign policy initiatives for President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and most recently President Joe Biden as national security adviser. With President Donald Trump back in the White House, what's next for major foreign policy challenges including the war in Ukraine, war in Gaza and a technology and trade war with China? What’s at stake as Trump changes the direction of the U.S. and our standing in the world?

On Point host Meghna Chakrabarti moderated a conversation with Sullivan as he assumes his new role as a professor at the Harvard Kennedy School and reflects back on his time in the West Wing and the challenges and opportunities for the U.S. ahead.
