Join us for a screening of “Inundation District,” a new documentary from filmmaker, Boston Globe reporter and Pulitzer Prize winner David Abel.

Despite a time of rising seas and intensifying storms, Boston made the fateful decision to spend billions of dollars to erect a new district – at sea level and on landfill – along its coast. The new district was called Innovation District, attracting high rise luxury housing and some of the world’s most well known companies. With climate change accelerating and sea water levels rising inexorably, many now call it the Inundation District.

Following the 79-minute film, WBUR climate and environment correspondent Barbara Moran moderates a conversation with Abel and a panel of experts including:

  • Kathy Abbott — President and CEO, Boston Harbor Now
  • Melissa Hoffer — Climate chief, state of Massachusetts
  • Sanjay Seth — Chief of staff and senior advisor for climate and equity, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 1
