Join WBUR and friends for a new series of live tapings of your favorite podcasts. Meet the people who are shaping the podcast landscape and be the first to hear their next episode, get a sneak peek of audio left on the cutting room floor or dig deeper into the stories that captivated you.

It started with a tip. Eventually, multiple sources said it was an open secret: the founder of New Hampshire’s largest addiction treatment network was sexually harassing or assaulting women. How did he get away with it? That question led NHPR reporter Lauren Chooljian on a journey into the American substance use disorder treatment industry, where she found a longstanding — and long tolerated — culture of sexual misconduct. Along the way, she and her team also faced serious legal and safety challenges, including multiple incidents of vandalism.

Chooljian tells the whole story in the critically acclaimed series “The 13th Step.”  Join us for a special listening event where you’ll get a chance to hear portions of the podcast. In-between listening, Chooljian will join WBUR podcast host and senior producer Amory Sivertson to discuss the serious issues “The 13th Step” raises, from trauma and recovery to freedom of the press. They’ll also answer your questions. This series is for anyone who has been touched by the addiction crisis, who cares about the fate of the #MeToo movement or who seeks out gripping audio storytelling.

PLUS: Sivertson will present an exclusive Boston preview of her new podcast Beyond All Repair. In this limited series, Sivertson reexamines an unsolved case, a family torn apart and a woman who was accused of murder and wasn't believed. The first two episodes of Beyond All Repair will be available on March 7. Listen to the trailer and subscribe here.
