Boston’s historic Emerson Colonial Theatre is hosting the world premiere of “The Queen of Versailles,” a new, Broadway-bound musical based on Lauren Greenfield’s 2012 documentary of the same name about the quixotic quest of billionairess Jackie Siegel, wife of “The Timeshare King” David Siegel, to build the largest home in America, inspired by the Palace of Versailles.
Following a screening of the film, Radio Boston host Tiziana Dearing moderated a conversation with Greenfield and Lindsey Ferrentino, author of the book for the new musical.
Performances for the musical, which reunites Oscar-winning songwriter Stephen Schwartz and Tony and Emmy-award winner Kristin Chenoweth as Jackie, begin Tuesday, July 16 through Sunday, August 25.
