The keynote discussion for the 2025 Power of Narrative conference included a screening of the documentary "Flashpoint: Protests, Policing, and the Press." A production of the Knight First Amendment Institute and part of the Los Angeles Times’ Academy Award-winning "Short Docs" series, “Flashpoint” features the stories of several journalists who were assaulted or arrested while reporting at protests and explores the conflict and tension experienced on the front lines, the changing look of the press, and the hardening of attitudes among the police towards journalists, especially journalists of color.

WBUR reporter Simón Rios moderated a post-film discussion with director Max Esposito and two of the film's participants, Joel Simon and Ashanti Blaize-Hopkins.

This event was the keynote for Boston University’s Power of Narrative Conference.
