Iraq's cabinet decided to postpone the country's first population census since 1987 yesterday, largely because of a longstanding conflict over the northern city of Kirkuk.  The BBC's Gabriel Gatehouse reports that the city is controlled by the Arab-dominated central government, but it is also in the oil-rich land claimed by the autonomous Kurdish government.

This segment aired on December 6, 2010.
