After days of negotiations under the watchful eye of a federal mediator, there's been little progress in talks between the owners of professional football teams and the players' union.

At stake is the prospect of no pro football this coming season, as a lockout by owners is looming over a contract deadline that expires at midnight tomorrow. We speak with Ken Belson, who covers football for the New York Times.
