  • Wesley McBride, part time rancher from Springerville, Arizona

Wesley McBride is a power company worker and part time rancher from Springerville, Arizona, who has been blogging to keep community members up to date with the latest information about the fires.

On Wednesday, McBride  had to leave his home because of the approaching massive Wallow wildfire.

He said he managed to evacuate some of his horses and cows, but he's had to leave behind other animals including a calf born yesterday which he's named Wallow.

"We can only hope for the best for her," he told WBUR's Here & Now. He said he left her and the other animals in an irrigated hay field Wednesday.
