He has yet to graduate from high school, but 16-year-old Alec Loorz has already made a name for himself as an environmentalist.

He started the organization Kids Versus Global Warming at age 12 and is now in the process of organizing worldwide youth demonstrations called iMatter marches, focusing on environmental issues.

Alec is also a lead plaintiff in a landmark case suing the federal government over climate change.

"I think that the time has now come for the young people to stand up and hold our government accountable," Alec told Here & Now's Robin Young. "We are going to have to grow up and live in that future. We're going to be affected more than anyone else by climate change."
