The first jewel in horse racing's Triple Crown is Saturday's Kentucky Derby in Louisville. The Derby, the Preakness and the Belmont Stakes, the three triple crown races, attract millions of viewers, but three Saturdays a year isn't enough to support a sport that was once the most popular pastime in America. All this week we've been looking at the business of horse racing, through the reporting of producers at WEKU radio in Richmond, Kentucky. Today, Jacalyn Carfagno looks at how horse racing hopes to regain its audience.

This segment aired on May 3, 2012.
