Kevin Sheridan, a former spokesman for the Republican Party, and Randy Bumps, a former political director for the Senate GOP campaign committee, will serve as key aides to whomever Mitt Romney picks as his running mate. The VP candidate has yet to be announced.

There is increasing speculation that the VP will be named this week. Ohio Senator Rob Portman, former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal are thought to be the most likely candidates, despite some heavy lobbying for former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice, Florida Senator and Tea Party favorite Marco Rubio, and former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum.
