Hurricane Sandy Halts Campaigns, Some Early Voting
Resume
Both President Barack Obama and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney have suspended campaigning - a week ahead of election day - due to Hurricane Sandy.
Early voting in Maryland and Washington, D.C., has been canceled due to the storm, and Hurricane Sandy's reach could extend into three other key states - New Hampshire, North Carolina and Ohio.
In Virginia, election officials eased absentee voting requirements for residents affected by the storm.
