Paralympic superstar Oscar Pistorius is due in court tomorrow after being charged with the murder of his girlfriend, who was shot inside his home in South Africa.

Police say Reeva Steenkamp, a model and law school graduate who spoke out on Twitter against rape and abuse of women, was shot four times in the predawn hours in the home, in a gated community in the capital, Pretoria.

The news has stunned the country because Postorius is a national hero.

He's known as the Blade Runner because of his high-tech artificial legs.

Both of Pistorius' legs were amputated below the knee before his first birthday because of a congenital condition.
