Early Monsoon Rains Flood India

Thousands of people in the north Indian state of Uttarakhand have been affected by devastating floods.
At least 1,000 have died in flooding and landslides, and thousands more are stranded and need evacuating, which has been hampered by the bad weather and poor infrastructure.
“Towns have been flattened. Roads have been swept away. More than 150 bridges have been swept away,” said BBC reporter Vineet Khare.
